  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

    RPL is a formal assessment process that allows you to gain credit for the skills, knowledge, and experience you've already acquired—whether through work, training, volunteering, or life experience. RPL is a non-teaching pathway. You must provide sufficient evidence to demonstrate your competency. If you can demonstrate that you meet the requirements of a unit of competency, you may not need to undertake formal training for that unit.

    RPL is available for individual units, multiple units, or even full qualifications that are offered at North Regional TAFE.

  • Unique Student Identifier (USI)

    All students must have a USI to study at TAFE. You will need one before you can enrol into any of our courses. If you don't have a USI yet, you can create one here: www.usi.gov.au/get-a-usi.

    If you already have a USI but have forgotten it, you can retrieve your USI by following the instructions found here: www.usi.gov.au/students/find-your-usi

  • Commercial fees may apply if a student is NOT one of the below:

    • Australian Citizens;
    • New Zealand Citizens;
    • Permanent visa holders (PR);
    • Holders of a sub-class 309, 444, 449, 785, 786, 790, or 820 visa;
    • Secondary holders of a temporary visa of sub-class 457 or 482 visa;
    • Holders of a Bridging Visa E (subclasses 050 and 051) where the visa holder has made a valid application for a visa of subclass 785 or 790;
    • Holders of a bridging visa who are eligible to work, and who have made a valid application for a subclass 866.

    Commercial fees can be significantly higher than the advertised price.

  • Eligibility for Concession

    Persons and dependants of persons holding certain types of cards or are in receipt of certain types of Centrelink benefits are eligible for the concession rate on course fees.

    Important: If your concession is valid for the full enrolment period, then all units you enrol in within that period will attract the concession rate. If your concession is valid for only part of the enrolment period, then only eligible units that you enrol in on or after the start date and prior to the expiry of the concession will attract the concession rate.

    Proof will be required to verify your eligibility for concession rates.

  • Payment Options

    North Regional TAFE (NRT) offers a range of payment options. These include:

    • Cash

    • Card

    • Cheque or money order

    • Payment plan ($100 deposit required)

    • Purchase order

     

    Outstanding Fees

    Any expenses, costs or disbursements incurred by North Regional TAFE in recovering any outstanding monies including debt collection fees and solicitor's costs shall be paid by the student or guarantor if the student is under 18 years of age.

  • Payment Plan

    If enrolment fees are not paid in full at the time of enrolment, North Regional TAFE requires a minimum deposit of $100 to commence a payment plan.

    If you aren't able to pay a deposit and/or enter into a payment arrangement, you are encouraged to meet with our Client Services team to negotiate a repayment plan.
